What Gear is in My Camera Bag?
As a professional photographer, one of my most common questions that I’m asked is what kind of equipment I use and what I recommend. To answer these common question, I decided to create a dedicated page that shows equipment I use frequently. That being said, anything you see here are products I LOVE and use myself quite frequently. In other words, if you see the product listed below, then you can feel confident that you are getting an honest review. I would never recommend something I don’t believe strongly in. However, if you still have questions, please feel free to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’d be happy to offer any advice I can.
If there ever was a camera that out-performed my expectations this camera would be that. Don’t let the price tag fool you. This little guy competes extremely well with my more expensive Nikon D610. I was attracted to this camera because its very compact, lightweight, and mirrorless. In the first few months I’ve had this camera, I have found myself using this little guy nearly daily. It produces fantastic images and has the ability to capture high quality in camera time lapses using an app that you can purchase from the Sony PlayMemories store. Seriously this camera rocks!!! (I purchased the Camera with 2 Lenses Kit).
I purchased this camera over two years ago. It is one of the best digital camera bodies Nikon has ever made. As a full frame camera, I’m surprised at how small and lightweight it is compared to bigger and bulkier full frame cameras. Another thing that immediately stood out to me was incredible dynamic range this camera has. The camera also has a large beautiful LCD on the back and two SD memory cards slots, allow you to review and capture hundreds if not thousands of high quality images.
I’ve shot hundreds of hours with this video camera. You would have a hard time believing this guy is only a prosumer level camera. It had lots of pro like features such as full manual control (iris, focus, zoom, gain, shutter speed, and aperture) that can easily be controlled by dials, buttons and switches. It also has 3 built in ND filters. This is one of my favorite features. This allows me to shoot at F2.8 in bright Arizona sun light while maintaining my idea shutter speed of 60. Finally the video off this camera is beautiful thanks to it’s 1″ CMOS sensor. I simply love it and I think you’ll love it too!
