Arizona Storms & Weather

One of my favorite times of the year in Arizona is actually the summer. While I am not a big fan of triple-digit heat, I am a fan of Arizona's monsoon. From June 15th - September 30th, Arizona welcomes a season of rain and thunderstorms. During the monsoon, I travel thousands of miles all over the state, photographing Arizona's weather.

Believe it or not, you can find a variety of weather patterns here in Arizona. Shelf clouds, blizzards, and even  tornadoes are possible. However, I'm not looking for the extreme weather you'd find out on the Plains. Instead, I'm looking for isolated thunderstorms, microbursts, and lightning.  This kind of weather enhances our already beautiful landscapes and I think you can see what I mean by watching the videos below.
